The Village of Lovnidol is located in northern central Bulgaria, it is part of the Municipality of Sevlievo, District of Gabrovo.
It is 9 miles from the Town of Sevlievo, 11 miles from the Town of Dryanovo, 13 miles from the Town of Gabrovo, 26 miles from the Town of Pavlikeni, 28 miles from the City of Veliko Tarnovo, 33 miles from the Town of Lovech. The village is located approximately 117 miles from the capital City of Sofia and 164 miles to the City of Varna.
The population of the Village of Lovnidol is around 250 residents. There is a Village Hall, food shops, and a dam on the outskirts of the village.
In the village, there is an active community centre “Zora – 1908” featuring a big and small hall, as well as a library. The library collection consists of 9998 volumes. The community centre has a group for original folklore, a club for studying the history of the village and a children’s creativity club.
In Lovnidol you will also find the beautiful Orthodox church “St. St. Constantine and Helena” built in 1839.
In the area of Lovnidol, in the locality “Donchova koriya”, there is a Thracian tomb mound from the Early Iron Age. Information about Lovnidol under the names Lomindol, Loindol and Lomendol can be found in Ottoman-Turkish documents from 1430, 1618 and 1638.
Falconry was practiced in the village in the 15th and 16th centuries. The earliest document attesting to this is a register of falconers from 1477.
